Measuring furniture, your room and delivery access
A piece needs to suit its final position and the route into your home. A few careful checks can make your delivery enquiry much more useful.
Check the product specification
Read the height, width and depth on the individual product page. Where there are size options, confirm the dimensions for the exact option you want. Ask the team about unclear or conflicting measurements before agreeing an order.
Map its place in the room
Mark out the footprint and check space for doors and drawers to open. Consider nearby furniture, windows, sockets and heating sources. For waxed pine, follow the product advice to keep furniture away from heat sources.
Follow the route from outside
Measure entrances, corridors, stairways, turns and any lift along the delivery route. Note access restrictions for vehicles and the floor of the property. Share these details with the team rather than assuming delivery to the room is included.
Ask about the delivered configuration
Assembly information varies by product. Check whether your chosen piece is fully assembled or requires self assembly. Ask about packaging dimensions and any carrying, unpacking or assembly service before confirmation. Product dimensions alone do not establish delivery clearance.
Include your notes in the request
Send your full address, postcode, country and the selected products. Describe any narrow access or stairs. Keep your KD- reference so you can follow up with the same request.
